PLANHEAT Live Training in Belgium
What can local authorities do to improve the energy and climate plans of their cities/communities?
In this training, public authorities (cities, municipalities, provinces etc.) can participate to learn about strategies to improve the sustainability of the energy supply in their area. The training sessions consist of three parts. In a first part the bigger picture will be given, an overview is presented on energy and climate targets and case studies on EU, national, regional and local level. An introduction to the PLANHEAT project is given as well.
In a second part a hands-on training session is organized, where the participants will be able to visualize the energy demand and supply in their area using GIS based software. After a networking lunch, the participants can learn how energy planning is performed using the PLANHEAT tool. The experts of VITO-EnergyVille will be available for technical support on the PLANHEAT tool and an interactive discussion on the creation of energy planning in cities and regions.
