PLANHEAT Live Training Session: Mapping heating/cooling demand & supply in cities
You are cordially invited to join us for the first PLANHEAT tool live training session organised by VITO/EnergyVille and taking place during EUSEW in Brussels!
Date: 8th of June 2018
Location: Euroheat & Power offices, Cours St Michel 30a, 1040 Brussels (access via Rue Père de Deken)
84% of heating and cooling energy in the EU is still generated using fossil fuels, in sharp contrast with EU climate ambitions. The deployment of energy technologies such as heat pumps, solar thermal buffers and district heating is severely delayed in several member states. Meanwhile, public authorities are uncertain which regulatory instruments to implement to encourage a cost-effective energy transition. The aim of the PLANHEAT project is to provide local authorities with an easy-to-use tool to draft low-carbon heating/cooling strategies. This open-source tool can be used by policy makers to build low-carbon plans at local level that align with the ambitions of the member states and EU.
The PLANHEAT live training session will involve an instructive and hands-on training session for mapping heating and cooling demand and supply in cities on 8th of June 10:00-15:00 in Brussels at the Euroheat & Power offices, close to EUSEW premises.
The training session consists of two parts:
- A strategic training session on heating and cooling technologies and overview on relevant regulation on heating and cooling
- A technical training session with a prototype of the PLANHEAT tool for non-GIS experts to visualize the heating and cooling demand and supply in their city

Registration is free of charge but mandatory. There are only 20 places available to guarantee a hands-on training session.
